Gr 2-5--Very basic, fairly dry introductions to major environmental concerns. Each book offers information on the causes, effects, and potential solutions to the problem identified in the title. Numerous color photographs and diagrams fill the pages, with paragraph-length explanations of related topics sandwiched among the illustrations. The result is a choppy presentation that covers much ground quickly but superficially. This approach might suffice for students in early elementary grades who have no background on the subject.
